GVT, PGVT And DGVT Tiles: You Need To Know Everything

Glazed Vitrified Tiles or GVT tiles are a popular tiling material.GVT tiles often pop up while searching for tiles, but along with them, you will see two more acronyms popping up – PGVT and DGVT.

Glazed Vitrified Tiles (GVT) have a layer of glaze on the surface. On this layer of glaze any kind of design can be imprinted using high volume inkjet printers. This ensures any type of design and colour can be customised on the top 2-4mm layer of the tile. Manufactured using the process of vitrification, these tiles are durable and long lasting, with the top extra glaze layer adding to the strength of the tile.

These durable tiles are great for both residential as well as commercial spaces, such as Dining rooms,  Bedrooms, Kitchens, Boutiques, Showrooms,  Airport, Metro stations, Bathrooms, Corridors, Offices, Conference rooms, Break rooms, Malls.

 What Are PGVT Tiles?

As the name suggests, Polished Glazed Vitrified Tiles (PGVT) have a polished surface that has a high reflective index. These tiles are available in a wide range of designs and colour- ensuring there is a tile for every colour and decor theme that you choose.

You’ll be astounded by the variety of styles and colours available when you walk into the Tiles showroom of Worldwave International. We know the importance of selecting the ideal tile to go with your decor motif, which is why our showroom has a wide variety. Our tiles showroom provides the perfect solutions to enhance your area, whether you’re searching for traditional elegance or a strong modern statement.

What Are DGVT Tiles?

Digital Glazed Vitrified Tiles (DGVT) have the designs digitally imprinted on the top layer of the tile. Available in a variety of designs, such as marble, wooden or floral, the wide range of DGVT tiles can be installed in commercial and residential spaces. Predominantly available in matte finish, the tiles help increase traction and prevent accidents. This makes them a great choice for spaces that see heavy foot traffic, such as malls, airports, metro stations, restaurants, and bars.

Difference Between GVT, PGVT And DGVT

1- GVT & DGVT tiles are suitable for use on floors and walls of commercial as well as residential spaces as they come with a less slippery surface to walk.PGVT tiles on the other hand are comparatively slippery, and can be used on floors of residential spaces and walls of commercial and residential spaces.

2- DGVT, and GVT tiles, can be used in heavy foot traffic areas, but PGVT tiles are better used for spaces with less foot traffic.

3- PGVT tiles come with a glossy finish surface, GVT tiles come with a variety of finishes such as matte, glossy, super glossy, satin matte, lapato, metallic and rocker. DGVT tiles are available in matte, rocker and metallic finishes.

So, GVT, PGVT, and DGVT tiles aren’t too different from each other – they have the same base with a changing top layer.
